How long does rewiring a terrace house take?
A condo takes 2–4 working days, a single-storey terrace 3–5 days, a double-storey 5–8 days and a semi-D 7–12 days. It depends on the number of points, whether walls need hacking, and whether you are living in the house.
Most families stay in. We work circuit by circuit so the bedrooms have power every night. Condo work follows the management's renovation hours, so it can take a day or two longer.
Does my 1970s or 80s house need rewiring?
Many terraces in PJ, SS2, TTDI, Subang, Kepong and Cheras still run on their original PVC cable. After 40 years the insulation hardens and cracks, and the circuits were never sized for three aircons, an induction hob and a water heater in every bathroom.
If yours has rewireable fuses, no RCCB, or extension cords everywhere, a planned rewire usually costs less than fixing faults one visit at a time. An inspection every 10–15 years is a sensible rule of thumb.
What does a rewiring quote include?
Our quote covers new cable, conduit or trunking, switches and sockets, the DB box work agreed on survey, and full testing with written results. Hacking, plastering, painting and light fittings are quoted separately.
If you are renovating, we work with your contractor so the cable goes in before the walls are closed. That saves paying to open the same wall twice.
