How many downlights does a room need?
Space downlights about 1 to 1.5 metres apart and 50–60cm from the walls. A 3 by 3 metre bedroom works well with 4 to 6 downlights of 9–12W. Living rooms need more, plus a separate switch for feature lights.
Choose 3000K warm white for bedrooms and living areas, and 4000K cool white for kitchens and study corners. Avoid 6500K daylight in living spaces, as it looks harsh at night. Buy each room's downlights in one batch so the colour matches.
Can my ceiling hold a chandelier?
Not from the plaster alone. Chandeliers and pendants over about 5kg must be fixed to the concrete slab or a structural member above the false ceiling. For tall double-volume ceilings, we arrange access equipment and quote by height and weight.
Send us the weight, drop length, ceiling height and a photo. That usually lets us quote without a separate site visit.
Why do my LED downlights flicker?
Usually a failing driver, a dimmer that does not suit LEDs, or different brands mixed on one circuit. Cheap drivers in a hot ceiling space fail first. We replace the driver or downlight and, if you have a dimmer, fit an LED-compatible one.
